The Rajasthan High Court's Jodhpur bench has dismissed a habeas corpus petition filed by a 24-year-old man seeking the production of a married woman with whom he claimed to be in a live-in relationship. The court ruled that a live-in agreement cannot grant legal standing to seek such a writ when the woman's existing marriage and a three-month-old child from it are subsisting. The bench imposed a Rs 25,000 fine on the petitioner, Mukesh, for suppressing material facts and lacking locus standi.
