Delhi's Traffic System Gets Smarter with AI and Adaptive Signals Over Next 2 Years
Times of India · technology
Delhi is set to get an Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) approved by the Union Cabinet, aiming to transform the city's commute over the next two years. The system will feature adaptive traffic signals that adjust green light times based on real-time traffic flow, and interconnected signals to facilitate smoother movement. AI-powered cameras will detect traffic violations, accidents, and even emergency vehicles, while ANPR technology will read number plates. Motorists will receive live route suggestions for congested corridors, with 42 corridors planned to be integrated into the system.
