New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips praised India's record-breaking 226-run chase but admitted his team made mistakes in the middle overs. He stated that if New Zealand had taken a couple more wickets or bowled more dot balls, they could have applied pressure. Phillips, who scored an unbeaten 82, noted that while plans were in place, execution on the field was lacking. He also acknowledged the Indian batsmen's adaptability to the pitch's bounce and the large boundaries.
