Nato fighter pilots have shot down a drone that entered Lithuanian airspace overnight, according to the Lithuanian president. The drone likely entered southern Lithuania near Kaunas from neighbouring Belarus shortly after midnight on Tuesday. Lithuanian authorities confirmed the swift response by armed forces and Italian pilots serving in the Nato Air Defence Mission. President Gitanas Nausėda stated that such readiness is vital given Russia's intensified aggression against Ukraine.
