Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has blamed previous BJP governments for financial mismanagement, leading to the recent advisory from the Finance Department. He stated that projects were undertaken without adequate budgetary allocations during the tenure of former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa. Shivakumar acknowledged pending payments exceeding ₹30,000 crore to contractors, assuring that the matter would be looked into. He also addressed allegations of commission demands and stated an inquiry would be ordered if an affidavit is submitted.

कर्नाटक के मुख्यमंत्री डी. के. शिवकुमार ने वित्तीय कुप्रबंधन के लिए पिछली बीजेपी सरकारों को जिम्मेदार ठहराया है, जिसके कारण वित्त विभाग ने हाल ही में एक सलाह जारी की है। उन्होंने कहा कि पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री बी. एस. येदियुरप्पा के कार्यकाल में पर्याप्त बजट आवंटन के बिना परियोजनाओं को शुरू किया गया था। शिवकुमार ने ठेकेदारों को ₹30,000 करोड़ से अधिक के लंबित भुगतानों को स्वीकार किया और आश्वासन दिया कि इस मामले को देखा जाएगा। उन्होंने कमीशन की मांगों के आरोपों को भी संबोधित किया और कहा कि यदि हलफनामा प्रस्तुत किया जाता है तो जांच का आदेश दिया जाएगा।
