They expressed frustration over the government's delay in revising prices while input costs have risen significantly. केंद्रीय मंत्री प्रह्लाद जोशी के साथ नई दिल्ली में हुई बातचीत विफल होने के बाद किसान संगठनों ने मंगलवार को बेलगावी जिले में 'रास्ता रोको' विरोध प्रदर्शन करने का फैसला किया है। किसान नेताओं ने कहा कि चीनी के लिए न्यूनतम विक्रय मूल्य (MSP) बढ़ाने और गन्ने के लिए उचित एवं लाभकारी मूल्य (FRP) की उनकी मांगों को सीधे तौर पर ठुकरा दिया गया। उन्होंने सरकार द्वारा कीमतों में संशोधन में देरी पर निराशा व्यक्त की, जबकि लागत काफी बढ़ गई है। किसान पुणे-बेंगलुरु नेशनल हाईवे को ब्लॉक करने की योजना बना रहे हैं, जिसके बाद अगले महीने राज्यव्यापी विरोध प्रदर्शन होगा।
