Southern Giants Brigades and government troops launched a major offensive against Houthi forces near the Bab al-Mandeb strait on October 5. This offensive is part of a nationwide campaign to reclaim territories controlled by the Houthis, including vital coastline regions. The pro-government forces, led by the Giants Brigade, have successfully cut off the main road linking Mocha to Bab al-Mandeb, marking a significant military gain. This collaboration between factions with differing goals highlights their effectiveness when united against the Houthis.
