The Delhi government has directed district social welfare officers to expedite the clearance of all pending old-age pension applications, mandating a seven-working-day deadline. This directive follows a departmental review revealing that over half of applications were not processed within the standard 45-day timeline. The government has deployed additional verifiers and instructed officers to monitor pending applications daily. This special measure aims to clear existing backlogs, while the original 45-day processing period for new applications under the Delhi Right of Citizen to Time Bound Delivery of Services Act, 2011, remains unchanged.

दिल्ली सरकार ने जिला समाज कल्याण अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिया है कि वे बुढ़ापा पेंशन के सभी लंबित आवेदनों को जल्द से जल्द निपटाएं और इसके लिए सात कार्य दिवस की समय सीमा तय की है। यह निर्देश विभाग की समीक्षा के बाद आया है, जिसमें पता चला कि आधे से ज़्यादा आवेदन 45 दिन की तय समय सीमा के अंदर प्रोसेस नहीं हुए थे। सरकार ने अतिरिक्त वेरिफ़ायर तैनात किए हैं और अधिकारियों को रोज़ाना लंबित आवेदनों की निगरानी करने का निर्देश दिया है।
