Akhilesh Yadav Slams BJP Over Slow Vote Counting in Varanasi MLC Polls

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Election Commission over the slow counting of votes in the Varanasi seat during the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elections. Yadav alleged that the BJP is deliberately slowing down the counting to prevent their defeat from becoming national news, stating that results are ready but certificates are not being issued. He urged the Election Commission to prove its impartiality or resign. Varanasi District Magistrate clarified that counting is ongoing and addressing objections raised by candidates.

समाजवादी पार्टी के मुखिया अखिलेश यादव ने उत्तर प्रदेश विधान परिषद चुनावों के दौरान वाराणसी सीट पर वोटों की धीमी गिनती को लेकर भारतीय जनता पार्टी और चुनाव आयोग की कड़ी आलोचना की है। यादव ने आरोप लगाया कि भाजपा अपनी हार को राष्ट्रीय खबर बनने से रोकने के लिए जानबूझकर गिनती धीमी कर रही है, और कहा कि परिणाम तैयार हैं लेकिन प्रमाण पत्र जारी नहीं किए जा रहे हैं। उन्होंने चुनाव आयोग से निष्पक्षता साबित करने या इस्तीफा देने का आग्रह किया। वाराणसी के जिला मजिस्ट्रेट ने स्पष्ट किया कि गिनती जारी है और उम्मीदवारों द्वारा उठाई गई आपत्तियों का समाधान किया जा रहा है।
