Industrialists Protest as Mixed Land Use Policy Expires
Hindustan Times · business
Over 10,000 small-scale industrial units across 72 mixed land use areas face an uncertain future after the policy expired on September 30. Industrialists fear Punjab Pollution Control Board notices and potential closure, impacting approximately one lakh workers. They are demanding an extension of the policy or official recognition of existing mixed land use zones as industrial areas. The policy, first introduced in 2008, has seen multiple extensions due to the failure to develop alternative industrial hubs. The Chief Minister has assured a timely resolution.
