Nalasopara Building Fire Kills Two, Damages 22 Flats

Times of India · india

A fire in Nalasopara East's Imperial Heritage building on Tuesday night resulted in two fatalities and damaged 22 flats, with two completely gutted. Officials suspect an illegal power connection for a Navratri celebration caused an overload and short circuit, leading to the blaze on the 13th floor. The building's fire safety system was non-functional, and the developer handed over the building only in 2023. Police are investigating the incident, and affected residents are being housed in hotels.
