Congress Demands Full Disclosure of Electoral Roll Changes

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has accused the Election Commission of compromising electoral integrity through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls and changes to voter enrollment rules. He alleged that names are being removed from electoral rolls at the behest of the BJP and the Modi government, and accused the Chief Election Commissioner of becoming a government puppet. Kharge also targeted changes to Form 6, used for enrolling new voters, fearing disenfranchisement of young voters.

कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे ने मतदाता सूचियों के स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिवीजन (SIR) और मतदाता नामांकन नियमों में बदलावों के ज़रिए चुनाव आयोग पर चुनावी अखंडता से समझौता करने का आरोप लगाया है। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि बीजेपी और मोदी सरकार के इशारे पर मतदाताओं के नाम चुनावी सूचियों से हटाए जा रहे हैं, और उन्होंने मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त पर सरकार का प्यादा बनने का आरोप लगाया। खरगे ने नए मतदाताओं को नामांकित करने के लिए इस्तेमाल किए जाने वाले फॉर्म 6 में बदलावों को लेकर भी निशाना साधा, जिससे युवा मतदाताओं के मताधिकार से वंचित होने का डर है।
