उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी नवदीप रिणवा ने कहा कि विशेष गहन पुनरीक्षण अभियान के दौरान नए मतदाता पंजीकरण के लिए लगभग 16.18 लाख फॉर्म 6 आवेदन स्वीकार किए गए। उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि ये आवेदन भारत निर्वाचन आयोग के दिशानिर्देशों के अनुसार संभाले गए और दावा व आपत्तियों की अवधि के दौरान दायर किए गए आवेदनों से अलग हैं। रिणवा ने मतदाता हटाने के लिए ऑटो-जनरेटेड फॉर्म की रिपोर्टों को भी संबोधित किया, यह दावा करते हुए कि सभी विलोपन के लिए नोटिस जारी किए गए थे। इस अभ्यास में मसौदा सूची के प्रकाशन के बाद उत्तर प्रदेश में 3.26 करोड़ से अधिक मतदाताओं का सत्यापन शामिल था।
