Net foreign direct investment (FDI) in India remained positive for the third consecutive month in August 2026, with inflows exceeding outflows by $3.3 billion, according to the Reserve Bank of India. This positive trend was sustained by robust gross inflows, even as outward investment by Indian companies saw moderation. Communication, miscellaneous services, and manufacturing sectors attracted the majority of FDI inflows. The U.S., Singapore, and Mauritius were the primary source countries for this investment.
