Madhya Pradesh Resumes Public Transport After 21 Years

Madhya Pradesh has relaunched public transport services after a 21-year hiatus, with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurating the Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva. Initially, the service will operate in seven cities, including Bhopal and Indore, offering both intercity and intracity bus routes. The government aims to deploy 1,500 buses within the first year, connecting urban centres and 75 percent of gram panchayats. This initiative, managed through a public-private partnership, seeks to strengthen public transport and improve state-wide connectivity.
