Kerala HC Orders Upload of Accident Vehicle Modification Details

The Kerala High Court has directed the Transport Commissioner to ensure that photographs and videos of vehicle modifications involved in accidents are uploaded onto the e-Detailed Accidents Report Portal. Inspecting officers must upload details of any safety standard violations and unauthorized alterations, such as those increasing engine horsepower or affecting the braking system. The court was informed of a technical glitch preventing uploaded photos from appearing on printed reports. This directive stems from a suo motu petition monitoring unauthorized vehicle modifications and resulting accidents.

केरल हाईकोर्ट ने परिवहन आयुक्त को निर्देश दिया है कि दुर्घटनाओं में शामिल वाहनों के मॉडिफिकेशन की तस्वीरें और वीडियो ई-डिटेल्ड एक्सीडेंट रिपोर्ट पोर्टल पर अपलोड किए जाएं। निरीक्षण अधिकारियों को किसी भी सुरक्षा मानक उल्लंघन और अनधिकृत बदलावों, जैसे इंजन हॉर्सपावर बढ़ाना या ब्रेकिंग सिस्टम को प्रभावित करना, का विवरण अपलोड करना होगा। अदालत को सूचित किया गया था कि एक तकनीकी खराबी के कारण अपलोड की गई तस्वीरें छपी हुई रिपोर्टों पर दिखाई नहीं दे रही थीं। यह निर्देश अनधिकृत वाहन मॉडिफिकेशन और उससे होने वाली दुर्घटनाओं की निगरानी करने वाली एक स्वतः संज्ञान याचिका से उपजा है।
