This accusation comes shortly after Mayawati removed Anand as the party's national coordinator. Mayawati urged party workers to focus on upcoming elections and spread the progressive ideas of Kanshi Ram Ji, while suggesting Anand is still influenced by his father-in-law.

बसपा सुप्रीमो मायावती ने अपने भतीजे आकाश आनंद पर उनकी सेहत को लेकर झूठी अफवाहें फैलाने का आरोप लगाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि आनंद ने उनके निजी सचिव को फोन करके उनकी खैरियत पूछी थी। यह आरोप मायावती द्वारा आनंद को पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय समन्वयक पद से हटाने के तुरंत बाद आया है। मायावती ने पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं से आगामी चुनावों पर ध्यान देने और कांशी राम जी के प्रगतिशील विचारों को फैलाने का आग्रह किया, साथ ही यह भी कहा कि आनंद अभी भी अपने ससुर से प्रभावित हैं।
