Tamil Nadu Launches High-Yielding Teak Clones

Tamil Nadu has launched a scientific initiative to introduce five superior teak clones, IFGTB-TG-1 to IFGTB-TG-5, developed by the Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding. These clones are selected for faster growth, better girth, straighter boles, and higher timber productivity. The Green Tamil Nadu Mission is adopting a polyclonal approach to mitigate risks from pests and climate stress.
