Gorakhpur Flood Relief Intensified in 57 Villages as Rivers Remain Above Danger Mark

Relief and rescue operations have been significantly ramped up in 57 flood-affected villages across Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, as the Rapti and Saryu rivers continue to flow above their danger levels. The district administration is actively distributing essential supplies, including 17,192 ration kits and 49,080 lunch packets, and operating community kitchens. Two relief shelters and 24 flood outposts have been established to provide accommodation and basic amenities. A fleet of 93 boats and 15 motorboats are deployed for transportation and emergency services, while health teams conduct medical check-ups and distribute medicines.
