The Left parties plan to make the defection of TVK candidates Maragatham Kumaravel and P Sathyabama a key campaign issue in the upcoming Oct 6 bypolls. CPM state secretary P Shanmugam stated that the candidates resigned within 20 days of the results, questioning their commitment if elected again. The Left bloc has announced P Suganthi as their candidate for Madurantakam and P Laxmanan for Dharapuram.

वामपंथी दल आगामी 6 अक्टूबर के उपचुनावों में टीवीके उम्मीदवारों, मरगथम कुमारवेल और पी सत्यभामा के दल बदलने को एक बड़ा चुनावी मुद्दा बनाने की योजना बना रहे हैं। सीपीएम राज्य सचिव पी. शनमुगम ने कहा कि उम्मीदवार परिणाम के 20 दिनों के भीतर ही इस्तीफा दे चुके हैं, जिससे उनके दोबारा चुने जाने पर प्रतिबद्धता पर सवाल उठता है। वाम दलों ने मदुरंतकम से पी. सुगंती और धरपुरम से पी. लक्ष्मणन को अपना उम्मीदवार घोषित किया है।
