IMD Forecasts Very Heavy Rain in Tamil Nadu, Kerala; Thunderstorms Likely

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across South India on Thursday, October 22. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep are expected to receive showers, with isolated very heavy rainfall likely over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Parts of Karnataka may also experience heavy rain. Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are anticipated in several southern states. Meanwhile, isolated to scattered rainfall is forecast for parts of central and western India, the Northeast, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग (IMD) ने गुरुवार, 22 अक्टूबर को दक्षिण भारत में व्यापक बारिश की भविष्यवाणी की है। तमिलनाडु, पुडुचेरी, कराईकल, केरल, माहे और लक्षद्वीप में बौछारें पड़ने की उम्मीद है, जिसमें तमिलनाडु और पुडुचेरी में अलग-अलग स्थानों पर बहुत भारी बारिश की संभावना है। कर्नाटक के कुछ हिस्सों में भी भारी बारिश हो सकती है। कई दक्षिणी राज्यों में आंधी-तूफान, बिजली गिरने और तेज हवाओं की आशंका है। इस बीच, मध्य और पश्चिमी भारत, पूर्वोत्तर और अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह के कुछ हिस्सों में अलग-अलग से छिटपुट बारिश का अनुमान है।
