Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) have withdrawn ₹52,100 crore from Indian stock markets in October so far, driven by high crude oil prices, rising US bond yields, and a strengthening dollar. This outflow follows a ₹35,861 crore withdrawal in September. FPIs have now pulled out ₹3.12 lakh crore from Indian equities year-to-date, significantly exceeding the ₹1.66 lakh crore withdrawn in all of 2025. Experts cite attractive US assets and capital flowing to North Asian markets due to AI-related stock rallies as reasons for the sustained selling.
