Punjab Cabinet Approves Service Rules For New BBMB Employee Cadre

Times of India · politics

The Punjab Cabinet has approved departmental service rules for a newly created separate cadre of employees to be posted in the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB). This move aims to ensure Punjab's rightful representation and create new employment opportunities for local youth. The decision follows concerns that Punjab's allocated positions in BBMB have often remained vacant, with employees from other states filling them. Punjab contributes 40% of the Board's finances, making adequate representation crucial. A special cadre comprising 2,452 posts has been approved, with recruitment rules already framed.
