Sebi Delinks Derivatives From Closing Auction To Fix Market Issues

Business Standard · stocks

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) introduced a Closing Auction Session (CAS) on August 3 to provide a single efficient price for index funds and institutional investors. However, the new system caused significant problems, particularly for derivatives traders, leading many to withdraw from the market due to unpredictability. A new circular issued on October 15 aims to resolve these issues by delinking derivatives from the CAS close.
