Punjab HC Orders Release of 25% Insurance Benefits to Soldier's Mother

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered the release of the remaining 25% of Army Group Insurance Fund (AGIF) death benefits to the mother of a soldier who died in Jammu & Kashmir in 2009. The soldier's wife had already received 50% of the benefits, with another 25% given to his father. The mother's claim for her proportionate share was initially dismissed by a lower court but was accepted by the High Court, citing succession laws.

पंजाब एवं हरियाणा हाई कोर्ट ने जम्मू और कश्मीर में 2009 में शहीद हुए एक सैनिक की माँ को आर्मी ग्रुप इंश्योरेंस फंड (AGIF) के मृत्यु लाभ का शेष 25% जारी करने का आदेश दिया है। सैनिक की पत्नी को पहले ही 50% लाभ मिल चुका है, और 25% उसके पिता को दिया गया था। निचली अदालत ने माँ के हिस्से के दावे को पहले खारिज कर दिया था, लेकिन हाई कोर्ट ने उत्तराधिकार कानूनों का हवाला देते हुए इसे स्वीकार कर लिया।
