10 Districts Vulnerable to Mule Account Fraud

A study by fraud prevention firm IDfy reveals 10 districts in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan are vulnerable to mule account fraud. Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Bareilly, Panipat, and Jodhpur are among the identified hotspots. The analysis of video-KYC data from April 2025 to June 2026 indicates these accounts are used for illegal money movement. Early detection through onboarding data is crucial for financial institutions to combat emerging fraud clusters before they escalate.

आईडीफाई (IDfy) की एक स्टडी बताती है कि उत्तर प्रदेश, हरियाणा और राजस्थान के 10 जिले म’ल अकाउंट फ्रॉड के लिए खतरनाक हैं। लखनऊ, गाजियाबाद, बरेली, पानीपत और जोधपुर जैसे शहर इसमें शामिल हैं। अप्रैल 2025 से जून 2026 तक के वीडियो-केवाईसी (KYC) डेटा से पता चला है कि इन अकाउंट्स का इस्तेमाल गैरकानूनी पैसों के लेन-देन में हो रहा है। वित्तीय संस्थाओं के लिए यह ज़रूरी है कि वे शुरुआत में ही ऐसे फ्रॉड को पहचानें।
