Meerut Court Sentences Woman to Death in 'Blue Drum Murder' Case

A Meerut court has sentenced Muskan to death for her role in the 'Blue Drum Murder' case. Muskan, along with co-accused Sahil Shukla, murdered Saurabh Rajput and disposed of his body by encasing it in cement inside a blue drum. This sentencing raises questions about capital punishment for women in India. While several women have been sentenced to death, only one, Ratanbai Jain in 1955, has been executed in independent India.
