Sports Ministry Revises NSF Funding Rules, Mandates Advance Athlete Selection Policies

The Sports Ministry has revised guidelines for National Sports Federations (NSFs), requiring them to publish athlete and coach selection policies at least one year before continental championships and two years before multi-sport events. Federations seeking financial assistance to host international events in India will also be eligible under the new framework, which covers the period from 2026-27 to 2030-31 with a total outlay of Rs 7,386.74 crore.

खेल मंत्रालय ने राष्ट्रीय खेल महासंघों (NSFs) के लिए दिशानिर्देशों में बदलाव किया है, जिसमें उन्हें महाद्वीपीय चैंपियनशिप से कम से कम एक साल पहले और बहु-खेल आयोजनों से दो साल पहले खिलाड़ी और कोच चयन नीतियों को प्रकाशित करना आवश्यक है। भारत में अंतरराष्ट्रीय आयोजनों की मेजबानी के लिए वित्तीय सहायता चाहने वाले महासंघ भी नए ढांचे के तहत पात्र होंगे, जो 2026-27 से 2030-31 की अवधि को कवर करता है, जिसमें कुल 7,386.74 करोड़ रुपये का प्रावधान है।
