The Indian government informed the Supreme Court that some Indians are willingly joining the Russian armed forces, often on tourist or work visas, seeking monetary benefits. The Ministry of External Affairs stated that while some individuals have been repatriated after government efforts, others have rejoined the forces and become untraceable. Some Indians are even approaching the embassy to give up their citizenship, obtain Russian passports, and then enlist. The government is actively monitoring these situations and assisting citizens who wish to return.
