Delhi Govt Readies Tough Winter Pollution Action Plan

Delhi government is preparing a stringent winter pollution control plan, intensifying the ‘No PUCC, No Fuel’ rule and banning construction and demolition activities for over a month. The plan includes checks on end-of-life vehicles and fitness tests for 2.5 lakh vehicles. A public awareness campaign will precede stricter enforcement of the PUCC rule. The government aims to reduce dust and emissions during the peak pollution period when air quality typically deteriorates sharply.

दिल्ली सरकार सर्दियों में प्रदूषण को रोकने के लिए एक सख्त योजना तैयार कर रही है। इसमें 'नो PUCC, नो फ्यूल' नियम को और कड़ा किया जाएगा और एक महीने से ज़्यादा समय के लिए निर्माण और तोड़फोड़ पर रोक लगाई जाएगी। इस योजना में पुराने वाहनों की जांच और 2.5 लाख वाहनों के फिटनेस टेस्ट भी शामिल हैं। PUCC नियम को और सख्ती से लागू करने से पहले एक जन जागरूकता अभियान चलाया जाएगा। सरकार का लक्ष्य प्रदूषण के चरम समय के दौरान धूल और उत्सर्जन को कम करना है, जब हवा की गुणवत्ता आमतौर पर तेज़ी से खराब होती है।
