पाकिस्तान के राष्ट्रपति आसिफ अली जरदारी ने यूएन महासचिव एंटोनियो गुटेरेस को देश का सर्वोच्च नागरिक सम्मान निशान-ए-इम्तियाज़ प्रदान किया। यह पहली बार है जब पाकिस्तान ने किसी यूएन महासचिव को यह सम्मान दिया है। यह समारोह गुटेरेस की आधिकारिक यात्रा के दौरान इस्लामाबाद में हुआ। बातचीत में क्षेत्रीय शांति, सिंधु जल संधि और जलवायु परिवर्तन तथा आतंकवाद जैसे वैश्विक मुद्दों पर चर्चा हुई। गुटेरेस का यूएन प्रमुख के रूप में दूसरा कार्यकाल दिसंबर 2026 में समाप्त हो रहा है।
