Uttar Pradesh Faces Heavy Rain, Orange Alert Issued; Delhi Air Quality Improves
Times of India · environment
Uttar Pradesh experienced heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and waterlogging across several districts on Friday, with an orange alert issued for thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Cities like Prayagraj and Ghaziabad were significantly affected by the wet spell. Meanwhile, Delhi received overnight showers that brought relief from air pollution, dropping the Air Quality Index to a satisfactory level. The weather changes are attributed to the remnants of Cyclone Arnab interacting with a western disturbance. Maximum temperatures are expected to drop by 5-8 degrees Celsius across Uttar Pradesh.
