Times of India · education
Children from Themli village in Chhattisgarh's Gariaband district walked 15km to demand the completion of their school building, which has been under construction despite an Rs 8.32 lakh sanction. Over 30 students from Classes 1 to 5 are currently studying in a single room. The protest, involving parents and local representatives, was called off after officials assured action. However, the children warned of boycotting classes if the building remains unfinished. This incident highlights broader issues with school infrastructure projects under the School Jatan scheme, with many works reportedly incomplete.
