Hospital Equipment Faults Disrupt Surgeries, Blood Screening

Technical faults at Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital in Hazaribag have severely impacted patient care. A defective C-Arm machine has delayed orthopaedic surgeries for numerous patients, while a non-functional ELISA machine has halted essential blood screening for three days. This disruption is particularly concerning for around 300 registered thalassaemia patients in the district who require regular transfusions. Additionally, three of the hospital's four lifts are out of service, causing significant hardship for elderly and critically ill patients.
