Sania Mirza, Mahesh Bhupathi, Rohan Bopanna Apply For AITA SOM Positions

Former Indian tennis stars Mahesh Bhupathi, Sania Mirza, and Rohan Bopanna have applied for Sportspersons of Outstanding Merit (SOM) positions within the All India Tennis Association (AITA). Bhupathi confirmed his application, while Sania and Bopanna also submitted theirs, joining Leander Paes in expressing interest in AITA governance. A total of 26 applications were received across men's and women's categories. The SOM framework aims to provide sportspersons a role in the association's governance, aligning with the National Sports Governance Act.
