The Calcutta High Court suggested on Monday that CPM's cultural wing can set up book stalls during Kali Puja. This suggestion came while hearing a plea where petitioners claimed authorities denied permission for temporary stalls during Durga Puja in Naihati and Bongaon. The petitioners stated they had been setting up stalls for 50 years, but permission was denied this year due to a direction from higher authorities. The court questioned if this confers a right to set up stalls and will consider releasing the matter.

कलकत्ता हाई कोर्ट ने सोमवार को सुझाव दिया कि CPM का सांस्कृतिक विंग काली पूजा के दौरान बुक स्टॉल लगा सकता है। यह सुझाव एक याचिका की सुनवाई के दौरान आया, जिसमें याचिकाकर्ताओं ने दावा किया कि अधिकारियों ने Naihati और Bongaon में दुर्गा पूजा के दौरान अस्थायी स्टॉल लगाने की अनुमति देने से इनकार कर दिया था। याचिकाकर्ताओं ने कहा कि वे 50 वर्षों से स्टॉल लगा रहे थे, लेकिन इस साल उच्च अधिकारियों के निर्देश के कारण अनुमति नहीं दी गई। अदालत ने सवाल किया कि क्या इससे स्टॉल लगाने का अधिकार मिलता है और मामले को निपटाने पर विचार करेगी।
