WTA has apologised after private comments made by player Jessica Pegula about Mirra Andreeva were broadcast on a livestream. Pegula was heard describing Andreeva as "a diva" and suggesting she "needs to be humbled" during a practice session at Indian Wells. The WTA stated it takes full responsibility for not informing players about active microphones on practice courts. Recordings of the session were removed from YouTube, though clips had already circulated widely online.
