This decision comes after the IOC recommended keeping the number unchanged. The exemption bypasses the National Sports Governance Act's stipulation for a 15-member panel. This move ensures continuity in the IOA's governance structure, aligning with international sporting body recommendations.

खेल मंत्रालय ने भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ (IOA) को बड़ी राहत दी है। अब IOA की एग्जीक्यूटिव काउंसिल में 16 सदस्य बने रहेंगे। यह फैसला IOC की सिफारिशों के बाद लिया गया है, जिन्होंने सदस्यों की संख्या अपरिवर्तित रखने को कहा था। इससे नेशनल स्पोर्ट्स गवर्नेंस एक्ट के 15 सदस्यों वाले नियम में छूट मिल गई है। यह कदम IOA के कामकाज में निरंतरता बनाए रखेगा।
