पश्चिम बंगाल के मुख्यमंत्री सुवेंदु अधिकारी ने कहा कि बंगाल में 27 लाख मतदाताओं के नाम हटाने के लिए पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी जिम्मेदार हैं। उन्होंने तर्क दिया कि बनर्जी द्वारा शुरू किए गए एक मामले में Supreme Court के निर्देशों के बाद न्यायिक अधिकारियों ने ये फैसले लिए। अधिकारी ने आरोप लगाया कि Trinamool अपनी चुनावी हार के बाद दोष मढ़ने की कोशिश कर रही है और जनता के जनादेश को स्वीकार करने में विफल रही है। उन्होंने केरल में इसी तरह की प्रक्रिया का समर्थन करने वाले एक Congress MLA के बयान का भी जिक्र किया और सवाल किया कि बंगाल में इसे नकारात्मक क्यों माना जा रहा है।
