उत्तर प्रदेश के कानपुर में एक डॉक्टर ने 100 बेड वाले सरकारी अस्पताल के बाहर फ्री OPD शुरू की है, जो पिछले दो सालों से बंद पड़ा है। यह अस्पताल बीजेपी मुख्यालय के पास बना है और पूरी तरह तैयार होने के बावजूद डॉक्टर और स्टाफ की कमी के कारण चालू नहीं हो पाया है। डॉक्टर शशिकांत मिश्रा, जो एक MBBS डॉक्टर हैं, सड़क किनारे मरीजों का इलाज कर रहे हैं और उन्हें मुफ्त दवाएं भी दे रहे हैं। उनका मकसद प्रशासन का ध्यान इस समस्या की ओर खींचना है और उन्होंने कहा है कि जब तक अस्पताल नहीं खुलता, उनकी यह सेवा जारी रहेगी। स्थानीय लोग लंबे समय से अस्पताल के चालू होने का इंतजार कर रहे हैं।
