The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) apprehended two Sri Lankan nationals at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport for attempting to smuggle 2.75 kg of gold. The passengers, travelling from Singapore to Dubai and Dubai to the Maldives respectively, were intercepted while allegedly handing over the gold to an airport staffer. Officials suspect the trio were part of a larger gold-smuggling racket and are investigating the staffer's role and the gold's intended destination.
