India is working to bolster the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as a maritime and economic gateway for the Indo-Pacific region. This initiative aims to secure shipping routes, enhance port connectivity, and build robust supply chains amidst global trade disruptions. A preliminary event for 'Andaman Dialogue 2027' saw participation from diplomats and experts from over 15 countries to discuss regional economic and security cooperation. The dialogue, scheduled for March 2027, will focus on strengthening maritime infrastructure, trade connectivity, and partnerships in the Indian Ocean and Indo-Pacific.
