Former Pathankot mayor Panna Lal Bhatia has proposed naming a road after Romanch Mahajan, an 18-year-old from the city. Romanch tragically died in a horse-drawn carriage accident in New York, which prompted legislation to ban such rides in the American city. Bhatia stated the proposal would be considered if the Congress party wins the upcoming municipal corporation elections. He emphasized that honouring Romanch's bravery, which gained international recognition, should transcend political considerations. The New York City Council recently passed 'Romanch's Law' to ban horse-drawn carriages by June 2028.

पठानकोट के पूर्व मेयर पन्ना लाल भाटिया ने शहर के 18 वर्षीय रोमान्च महाजन के नाम पर एक सड़क का नाम रखने का प्रस्ताव दिया है। रोमान्च की न्यूयॉर्क में घोड़ा-गाड़ी दुर्घटना में दुखद मौत हो गई थी, जिसके बाद अमेरिकी शहर में ऐसी सवारी पर प्रतिबंध लगाने के लिए कानून बनाया गया। भाटिया ने कहा कि अगर कांग्रेस पार्टी आगामी नगर निगम चुनाव जीतती है तो इस प्रस्ताव पर विचार किया जाएगा। उन्होंने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि रोमान्च की बहादुरी को सम्मानित किया जाना चाहिए, जिसने अंतरराष्ट्रीय पहचान हासिल की, और यह राजनीतिक विचारों से परे होना चाहिए।
