Porvorim Road Safety Concerns Persist Despite New Flyover

Despite the opening of a six-lane elevated corridor in Porvorim, road safety remains a significant concern. The NH-66 stretch between Wadakade and O-Coqueiro restaurant alone recorded 94 accidents between 2022 and 2024, resulting in four deaths. Another section from Mall de Goa to Hero Circle was the deadliest, with 13 fatalities. Officials are now preparing to install new signage to reopen entry and exit points closed after recent accidents. The state has implemented safety measures on numerous accident-prone zones across North and South Goa.
