Gandak River Floods New Areas in Saran, IAF Intensifies Relief Operations

The Gandak river continues to cause widespread damage, inundating new areas in Saran district after breaching the Saran embankment. A small bridge on the Patjirwa-Bettiah road in West Champaran was also swept away. The Indian Air Force has intensified relief efforts, airdropping over 5,000 dry ration packets in Saran. Additional relief supplies are being dispatched from multiple districts. Nineteen NDRF and SDRF teams are actively involved in rescue and relief operations, having already rescued approximately 2,000 people and cattle. Meanwhile, the flood situation is improving in East Champaran.
