Waris Punjab De Expands Reach Ahead of 2027

Amritpal Singh-led Akali Dal Waris Punjab De is expanding its organisational footprint to seek support among Sikhs in India and abroad for the 2027 Punjab assembly elections. The outfit recently formed units in Haryana and France, and has organised events in Canada and the UK. Supporters in Kuwait have also formed a committee. The organisation, which awaits Election Commission recognition, has projected Amritpal Singh as its Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming polls. This expansion aims to consolidate support from the Sikh diaspora and communities in other Indian states.
