Hindustan Times · politics
Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand stated that lasting peace and progress are unattainable in the state as long as a gun culture persists. He made these remarks during a visit to Sinai Camp, a designated militant camp in Kangpokpi district, which was recently taken over by security forces. The Chief Minister commended the CRPF's CoBRA unit for their role in the operation and stressed the need to protect civilians during combing operations. He urged the public to shun violence, surrender illegal arms, and cooperate in restoring peace and harmony.
