India Seeks Moscow Update on 55 Indians in Russian Army; 140 Discharged

India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar chaired a meeting on India-Russia relations, discussing bilateral trade, investments, and the status of Indian nationals. Around 140 Indians have been discharged from the Russian army, while the government is seeking information from Moscow regarding 55 others reportedly still serving. This follows previous reports of 227 Indian nationals recruited into the Russian military, with some casualties. Indian law enforcement is also acting against recruitment agents facilitating these deployments.

भारत के विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर ने भारत-रूस संबंधों पर एक बैठक की अध्यक्षता की, जिसमें द्विपक्षीय व्यापार, निवेश और भारतीय नागरिकों की स्थिति पर चर्चा हुई। लगभग 140 भारतीयों को रूसी सेना से छुट्टी दे दी गई है, जबकि सरकार मॉस्को से उन 55 अन्य लोगों के बारे में जानकारी मांग रही है जो कथित तौर पर अभी भी सेवा में हैं। यह पिछले उन रिपोर्टों के बाद हुआ है जिनमें 227 भारतीय नागरिकों को रूसी सेना में भर्ती किया गया था, जिनमें से कुछ हताहत भी हुए थे। भारतीय कानून प्रवर्तन एजेंसियां इन तैनाती की सुविधा प्रदान करने वाले भर्ती एजेंटों के खिलाफ भी कार्रवाई कर रही हैं।
