Rescuer Becomes Survivor After Boats Capsize During Telangana Lake Operation
The Hindu · india
Ten personnel from the State Disaster Response Force and Fire Department were involved in a rescue operation when two boats capsized in Telangana's Bethupalli Peddacheruvu. Three personnel, including SDRF member Naresh, clung to a tree throughout the night before being rescued by the NDRF. Naresh described the experience as a "rebirth." Officials suspect a breach in an upstream irrigation tank due to Cyclone Murasu caused the sudden water surge and strong currents that led to the accident. All ten rescue personnel were eventually saved after a 12-hour search.
