Iran Exempts India, China, Qatar, Iraq From Hormuz Strait Restrictions
Al Jazeera · world
Iran has exempted ships from India, China, Iraq, and Qatar from its Strait of Hormuz restrictions, according to a senior Iranian lawmaker. Ships from these nations can now pass freely without interception by the US. This move comes after Iran effectively closed the strait early in the US-Israel war on Iran and the US reimposed a naval blockade. Iran will collect transit fees from Indian and Chinese ships, while Qatari vessels pass free, potentially generating revenue and undermining US strategy.
